The internet provides thousands of games that the kids can play. Some are intricate while others are plain to understand. The good thing however is that all the games get the kids occupied for hours and help in augmenting their creativity. Some of the games include joining of dots which are labeled according to number where the result is a figure. Studies have found that coloring helps many children to overcome inner pain they may be experiencing from the death of a loved one, such as a family member or a pet. Many people do not think children will remember the death of loved ones, but it has been shown that they do indeed remember the loss of their loved ones and it can impact them later in life if it is not dealt with. Giving your child a piece of paper and coloring tools will help them express their inner feelings, even if they don’t want to talk about them.

For example: When kids see that they told everyone to put a lion in the middle of the paper, and some people put the lion facing down, some people put the lion upside down, and some people put the lion really really big, and some really small; they see the ambiguity of such a simple phrase. Then later on, when they don’t understand why a rule applies to them but not others, you can point out the “lion” command and how there are different ways different people see things. The value of this game continues on and on. In the end, you have spent time with your kids, helped them to become creative, and added a life time of memories to them.

All you need for this game is a piece of paper for each person, and something to draw with. Once everyone has one of these, everyone disperses through out the room so that no one can see the other person’s paper. This idea of no one seeing the other person’s paper is the most important part of the game. If there is just not enough room for everyone to disperse, then you can just sit back to back, or turn your backs from everyone in a wagon wheel fashion. Set up an order in witch each person will “go” and tell the group what to draw.

Organization is not always easy for me. Finding the time to organize as well as the determination to follow through has come from much trial and error (and is still being perfected). The more I do, the more I know how to do, and the more I want to get done. Maybe one of these days, I will be the organized wife my husband dreams about at night.
